The enrichment of the PPAR signaling pathway [39] supports the hypothesis that UHRF1 plays a critical role in lipid metabolism, consistent with our experimental observations of reduced hepatic steatosis following UHRF1 inhibition, while the involvement of the Hippo signaling pathway suggests that UHRF1 may regulate cellular proliferation and tissue remodeling, processes often disrupted in MAFLD [40]. This evidence concerns the gene PPARA and fatty liver disease.
