In patients with Marfan syndrome, a positive correlation was observed between mRNA FBN1 expression and the diameter of the sinotubular junction (r = 0.42, p = 0.07), as well as between mRNA TGFβ2 expression and the diameter of the ascending aorta (r = 0.53, p = 0.01), suggesting a possible relationship between these molecular markers and aortic enlargement in these patients. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB2 and Marfan syndrome.
