CDK2 and cancer: Notably, the multinucleated cancer cell progeny after multipolar mitotic events had a statistically significantly lower rate of apoptosis than did mononucleated cells, as displayed in Figure 5D. However, the ratio of multinucleated cells/mononucleated cells remained stable during 8 days of CYC065 or PF7104091 treatment, as in Figure 5E. This indicated that this population of progeny cancer cells persisted despite continued CDK2 inhibition.
