To determine whether these two SLAMF receptors affect human pDC function during Salmonella infection, we analyzed our KD and shCTRL clones and CAL-1 cells at 24 hours p.i. Silencing of SLAMF7 and SLAMF8 hindered the maturation of human pDCs infected with Salmonella compared with that of shCTRL or CAL-1 cells (Figure 5D), without affecting cell death (Supplemental Figure 3H).
