Studies have confirmed a correlation between the haplotypes HLA-A*68 in North American Whites, HLA-DRB1*0301 in African Americans, HLA-DQA1*0104 and HLA-DRB1*07 in Han Chinese, DQA1*05 and DQB1*02 in Britons and an increased risk of developing dermatomyositis, as well as the haplotype DRB1*03-DQA1*05-DQB1*02 and the risk of developing interstitial lung disease in dermatomyositis [107,108]. Here, HLA-A is linked to dermatomyositis.
