Glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1 RAs), such as semaglutide and liraglutide, and the dual gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP) and GLP‐1 RA, tirzepatide, are drugs authorised in the UK by NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) for the management of obesity and/or type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) [3, 4, 5]. This evidence concerns the gene GLP1R and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
