In a large cohort study [19], enriched for HBOC patients, 45.9% of all pathogenic MEIs found were located in BRCA2. Therefore, MEIs detection might be especially important for patients with suspected BRCA2-associated cancer predisposition such as HBOC, familial prostate, or pancreatic adenocarcinoma as well as Fanconi's anemia. This evidence concerns the gene BRCA2 and pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
