As shown in Table 1, XIAP contributes to resistance against Taxol in prostate, lung, pancreatic, and breast cancers, emphasizing its involvement in protecting cancer cells from apoptosis induced by this commonly used microtubule-targeting agent (Nomura et al., 2003; Lin et al., 2004; Lopes et al., 2007).
