Among individuals without depression, results showed that, compared to women without pain, those with severe or interfering pain showed mean differences (MD) in BDNF of −2.62 ng/mL (95% CI: −5.03, −0.22) and −3.09 ng/mL (95% CI: −4.71, −1.47), respectively. This evidence concerns the gene BDNF and major depressive disorder.
