Similar to our previous observations in Crohn’s disease46 we noticed higher 2-AG levels in active EoE patient mucosal biopsies, and a down-regulation of MGL mRNA in human primary esophageal epithelial cells (H-6046) by IL-13, which was accompanied by an increase in POSTN, a known epithelial gene dysregulated in EoE. Here, POSTN is linked to eosinophilic esophagitis.
