In our previous publication, we demonstrated the usefulness of the sFlt-1/PlGF ratio in the appropriate ranges for the prediction of preeclampsia in predicting poor perinatal outcomes, such as preterm birth and associated prematurity, SGA (small for gestational age) fetuses, pH values below 7.1 obtained from the umbilical artery shortly after birth, and newborns with low Apgar scores [19]. This evidence concerns the gene PGF and preeclampsia.
