Referring to the mechanisms mentioned above that may play a role in the pathogenesis of fibrosing sarcoidosis, nintedanib inhibits the release of mediators, including IL-2 (and its production), IL-4, IL-5, IL-10, IL-12p70, IL-13, and IFN-γ, by human peripheral blood mononuclear cells or T-cells [164]. Here, IL5 is linked to sarcoidosis.
