Patients with indications for further ICU treatment presented with more advanced stages of congestive heart failure with higher New York Heart Association (NYHA) stages (53.2% (33/62) vs. 31.4% (38/121), p = 0.006), higher NTproBNP levels (4158 ± 6502 pg/mL vs. 2531 ± 4532 pg/mL, p = 0.02), and higher rates of high-dose diuretic therapy, defined as ≥80 mg furosemide/d (56.5% (35/62) vs. 38.8% (47/121), p < 0.001). Here, NPPB is linked to congestive heart failure.
