Cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) is one of the main second messengers critically involved in cardiac electrophysiology, hypertrophy, and contractility regulation.[22] Activation of the cGMP‐PKG signaling pathway helps to alleviate PO‐induced cardiac hypertrophy.[22] Lgr6 overexpression effectively increased the expression level of cGMP and the activity of PKG in the hearts of PO mice compared to AAV9‐null (Figure 7C,D). The gene discussed is PRKG1; the disease is cardiac hypertrophy.
