Cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) is one of the main second messengers critically involved in cardiac electrophysiology, hypertrophy, and contractility regulation.[22] Activation of the cGMP‐PKG signaling pathway helps to alleviate PO‐induced cardiac hypertrophy.[22] Lgr6 overexpression effectively increased the expression level of cGMP and the activity of PKG in the hearts of PO mice compared to AAV9‐null (Figure 7C,D). This evidence concerns the gene LGR6 and cardiac hypertrophy.
