NF‐κB is a quintessential transcription factor that orchestrates the expression of a myriad of inflammatory genes in inflammation‐related diseases including atherosclerosis.[22] Canonically, NF‐κB activity is regulated by the upstream IκBα and IKKβ.[23] Activated IKKβ phosphorylates IκBα, leading to the degradation of p‐IκBα by ubiquitination. This evidence concerns the gene NFKBIA and inflammation.
