HLA-DQB1 and necrotizing enterocolitis: Cardiac NEC CD45+ ROIs were characterized by marker genes associated with DNA damage response and induction of transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) signaling (MYCBP2 [MYC binding protein 2], ATM [ataxia telangiectasia mutated]),38,39 antigen presentation (HLA-DQB1, major histocompatibility complex, class II, DQ beta 1),40 and regulation of blood cell homeostasis (PARVG, gamma-parvin),41 processes largely driven by B and dendritic cells estimated (Figures S7B and S8C) to be upregulated in cardiac NEC ROIs.
