Our results showed that activation of p53 could inhibit the expression of MAPK4 at both mRNA and protein levels, whereas p53 depletion could elevate the expression of MAPK4 at both mRNA and protein levels (Fig. 4L–S), while these results were not observed in NSCLC cells that harbor deficiency p53 and mutant p53 (Fig. S4C–H).
