When quality oxytocin was given to mothers who previously did not receive a uterotonic in facilities (scenario 2: births at facilities all use quality uterotonics), 134 000 (8%) of PPH cases and 2000 deaths (7%) due to PPH were averted annually, decreasing total spending by US$130 million (~₦ 99 billion) (10%).
