One study used the LungMe® assay to assess the methylation levels of SHOX2 and RASSF1A in broncho-exfoliated cells, demonstrating high diagnostic accuracy for lung cancer with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.814, indicating excellent sensitivity and specificity for detecting lung cancer through bronchoscopic samples [4,6]. The gene discussed is SHOX2; the disease is lung cancer.
