We have recently applied cell-type specific mRNA expression analyses using RiboTag and identified that Scg2 is upregulated by injury-induced ATP signals in astrocytes and rehabilitation-induced neural activity in target Chx10+ V2a neurons in the denervated cervical cord, and drives the growth of residual CST axons after stroke (Sato et al., 2025). This evidence concerns the gene VSX2 and stroke disorder.
