MEFV and arthritic joint disease: According to past research, the prevalence of FMF in Jordan has been estimated to be 0.04%.[1] FMF is caused by functional mutations in the MEFV gene, which codes a protein called pyrin that mainly regulates the intrinsic immune system.[2] FMF symptoms are described by self-limiting events of fever associated with arthritis, serositis, and dermal manifestations, lasting 12–72 h with a variable recurrence rate.[3]
