PSMB5 and liver cancer: Studies have found that in the hepatitis B virus (HBV)-positive liver cancer cell line HepG2.2.15, ethanol treatment not only leads to an increase in intracellular triglyceride and cholesterol levels but also synchronously upregulates the expression of HBV X protein/pregenomic RNA (HBx/pgRNA), HBV X protein (HBx), and SWELL1, which is not observed in HBV-negative HepG2 cells (Liu et al., 2020).
