Males are thought to be more susceptible to PD than females.3 Levodopa and other dopaminergic medicines, such as monoamine oxidase B (MAO-B) inhibitors, catechol-o-methyltransferase (COMT) inhibitors, and others, are being used to treat PD.2 They just relieve symptoms; they do not cure or prevent the condition.
