CXCR2 mediates the occurrence and development of various diseases, such as atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, myocarditis, heart failure and myocardial hypertrophy, and the degree of tissue damage after ischemia is closely related to the number of neutrophils recruited into the tissue (Chapman et al., 2007; Planagumà et al., 2015; Liang et al., 2017). The gene discussed is CXCR2; the disease is ischemia.
