IL6 and pneumoconiosis: The IL-6 -634G-allele remarkably decreased the pneumoconiosis susceptibility among Asians (G vs. C: OR = 0.62, 95%CI = 0.51–0.76, p = 0.000; GG vs. CC: OR = 0.57, 95%CI = 0.40–0.83, p = 0.003; GC vs. CC: OR = 0.50, 95%CI = 0.37–0.67, p = 0.000; GG + GC vs. CC: OR = 0.54, 95%CI = 0.42–0.69, p = 0.000, Table 3), indicating that the G-allele might be a protective factor in the Asian population.
