The Kaplan–Meier and multivariate Cox proportional hazard regression model analyses showed that the top tertile of baseline tubular expression level of ACSL4 was found to identify the subjects with DKD who were at high risk for rapid kidney function decline [adjusted HR 7.92, 95% CI (1.44, 43.44), as compared to lowest tertile] (Figure 3) and a similar significant relationship was found using tubular ACSL4 levels as a continuous variable [adjusted HR 1.76, 95% CI (1.25, 2.48)] (Table 4). The gene discussed is ACSL4; the disease is diabetic kidney disease.
