MMP14 can further activate tumor epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) by promoting the expression, maturation, and release of MMP2 and MMP9, thereby promoting tumor metastasis.[42, 43, 44, 45] By overexpressing different functional domains of GSDMD, we found that GSDMD mainly regulates MMP14 through its N‐terminal cytotoxic domain (residues 1–200). This evidence concerns the gene MMP2 and neoplasm.
