SIRT3 and cancer: Given that excessive contractile myosin-II activity has been reported to be necessary for abnormal nuclear morphologies and chromatin disorganization in Cof/ADF silenced cells (Wiggan et al., 2017), a pressing goal for the future will be to investigate whether Arg-II-Sirt3-mtROS axis promotes nuclear deformation in cancer cells through Myo1b and/or other cytoskeleton proteins.
