MTOR and ovarian carcinoma: First classified as a human oncogene in lung and ovarian carcinomas, PRKCI, via the inhibition of PIK3CA/AKT-mTOR signaling pathway, inhibits autophagy as reflected by a decrease in the light chain 3B-II (LC3B-II) protein, increase in p62 and weakened degradation of both endogenous and exogenous autophagic substrates (Qu et al., 2016; Inman et al., 2022).
