STEMVAC is a multiantigen, multiepitope Th1 selective deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) plasmid-based vaccine that targets SOX2, CD105, Y-box binding protein 1 (Yb-1), cadherin 3 (CDH3), and the MDM2 proto-oncogene (MDM2) and is being developed in clinical trials for the treatment of cancer (Phase 1/2), which suggests that SOX2 is a promising target for drug development (Higgins et al., 2016; Disis et al., 2022). Here, CDH3 is linked to cancer.
