CXCL1 has been mechanistically linked to the pathogenesis of cardiovascular disorders, particularly atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease, through its ability to exacerbate vascular inflammation by promoting pro-inflammatory responses within the vascular endothelium (Korbecki et al., 2022c; Baragetti et al., 2023).
