Rodrĩguez-Hernᾴndez et al. reported a Spanish study of 366 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 found that elevated IL-6 ≥  27.4 pg/mL (HR 2.27), decreased sIL-6R ≤ 34.5 ng/mL (HR 2.50), and decreased sgp130 ≤  367.5 ng/mL (HR 2.25) were risk factors for mortality [58]. This evidence concerns the gene IL6R and COVID-19.
