Morales-Quinones et al. reported that localized LIM kinase inhibition prevents arteriolar inward remodeling in hypertensive mice suggesting that hypertension may be correlated with phosphorylation of VSMC cofilin and actin stress fiber formation leading to heightened arterial stiffness (Morales-Quinones et al., 2020). This evidence concerns the gene CFL1 and hypertensive disorder.
