Among those with culture-confirmed TB, median CRP levels (median 57.42 vs. 35.55 mg/L, p = 0.004) and Xpert semi-quantitative grade (p = 0.04) were significantly higher among males than females (Supplementary Table 2); however, there was no difference in the proportion of culture-positive TB cases detected by Xpert between males and females (56.4% vs. 58.6%, p = 0.74). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and tuberculosis.
