Given that people with T1DM have an increased thrombotic risk and magnesium is known to play an essential role in coagulation control; this study aims to assess the level of serum magnesium among children and adolescents with T1DM compared to healthy matched controls and its correlation with glycemic control, coagulopathy markers including prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT), plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) and diabetic vascular complications. This evidence concerns the gene F2 and type 1 diabetes mellitus.
