CD14 and Sepsis: Among these 88 SNPs, rs2569190 (CD14, Cox regression: p = 3.9 × 10−4) and rs1800972 (DEFB1, Cox regression: p = 4.3 × 10−2) were significantly associated with 28-day survival in patients with sepsis due to pneumonia in the GWAS and rs1800629 (TNF, logistic regression: p = 2.0 × 10−2) was significantly associated with sepsis-associated ARDS with all three SNPs having the same effect direction as in the original candidate gene studies (Table 2).
