Like other PFTs, our data show that PLP1 contributes to recruitment of neutrophils to the site of infection coincident with increased production of G-CSF, CXCL2 and CXCL1 chemokines, and consistent with previous observations that signalling through the receptor for these chemokines is important for neutrophil migration to the site of infection (53).
