CRP and hypochromic anemia: On presentation, her blood results showed a marked increase in C-reactive protein (CRP = 260.9 mg/L), a decline in renal function (estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) = 38 mL/min/1.73m2, urea = 11.7 mmol/L, and creatinine = 124), and microcytic hypochromic anemia with thrombocytopenia.
