Two cohort studies, both involving T2DM patients, compared patients receiving SGLT2 inhibitors to those receiving GLP-1 receptor agonists and found no difference in VTE risk.49, 50Ueda et al.49utilized nationwide data from Sweden and Denmark, including 17,213 patients on SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 receptor agonists, respectively, with a median follow-up of about 9 months, found no association between SGLT2 inhibitors and VTE (hazard ratio [HR] 0.99, 95% CI 0.71–1.38; absolute risk difference 0.2, 95% CI −0.4 to 1.3). Here, GLP1R is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
