Similar results were observed in a cohort study,53which found that SGLT2 inhibitors were associated with a reduced risk of retinal vein occlusion compared with DPP-4 inhibitors (HR 0.76, 95% CI 0.59–0.98), though this association was only observed for branch retinal vein occlusion and not central retinal vein occlusion. The gene discussed is DPP4; the disease is retinal vein occlusion.
