The systemic diseases/syndromes reported by eight studies [34,35,36,37,38,39,40,41] were Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (n = 35) [38], malnutrition/marasmic–kwashiorkor (n = 22) [35], Down syndrome (n = 6) [36], Kostmann syndrome (n = 2) [41], Dedicator of Cytokinesis 8 (DOCK8) deficiency (n = 1) [34], Hydroa Vacciniforme (n = 1) [39], Papillon–Lefèvre syndrome (n = 1) [40], and Fanconi anemia and diabetes mellitus (n = 1) [37]. This evidence concerns the gene DOCK8 and Down syndrome.
