Conversely, in a 24-week open-label, uncontrolled pilot study (5 mg/day) in 11 patients with T2DM with non-alcoholic steatohepatitis there were almost no changes in CRP [233], while in a separate 12-week intervention (10 mg/day) in 36 subjects with T2DM, there was an unexpected increase in median CRP [234]. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
