In the genetic association study conducted by Hizawa et al. [26], a cohort of 246 COPD patients, who were all participants in the “Hokkaido COPD cohort study” [51], underwent examination for short-term bronchodilator responses (BDRs) to salbutamol based on ADRB2 genotypes Arg16Gly and Gln27Glu at codons 16 and 27, respectively. The gene discussed is ADRB2; the disease is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
