SIRT1 and acute myeloid leukemia: Higher expression of SIRT1 was also found in samples obtained from AML patients with an internal tandem duplication in the FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3 gene (FLT3-ITD) [47,49], which is one of the most common AML subtypes (approximately 25% of all cases) and is connected with an increased risk of relapse [50,51].
