Additional work-up showed elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) (32 mm/h) and C-reactive protein (CRP) (1.7 mg/L) levels, and remaining testing were unremarkable including complete blood count, complete metabolic panel, urinalysis, syphilis, HIV, QuantiFERON, HSV/VZV/CMV PCR, Toxoplasma, Lyme, Bartonella, chest X-ray, ACE, lysozyme, ANA, anti-dsDNA, ANCA, proteinase-3 and myeloperoxidase antibodies, C3 and C4. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and syphilis.
