NOS1 and Alzheimer disease: Remarkably, ET124 not only counteracted such NOS1 overexpression but also further extended their benefits by partially recovering the expression of presynaptic (SYN) and post-synaptic (DLG4) genes, potentially improving synaptic function that is critically impaired in AD (Heffernan et al., 1998; Sultana et al., 2010).
