We assume that the increase in the number of pericellularedema zones during the helminth infection may proceed accordingto the hepatic-encephalopathy scenario, associatednot only with upregulation of inflammatory cytokines (TNF,IL-1β, IL-6, and IFN-γ) in the blood but also with elevatedblood and brain ammonia levels, as shown in acute and chronicliver failure (Butterworth, 2003; Rama Rao et al., 2014;Upadhyay, 2017).
