LEF1 and breast cancer: The analysis of COLO357 cells with SOX9 knockdown reveals increased expression of genes activated in breast cancer with MYC gene overexpression, as well as decreased expression of genes under-expressed in colon cancer cells, with artificial overexpression of the LEF1 gene included in epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT), and decreased expression of genes up-regulated in CD34+ cells following the knockdown of the RPS14 gene, a ribosomal protein with distinct onco-promoting effects [30,31] and a negative regulator of MYC [32].
