Knowing the link between obesity and neurodegenerative diseases and the association between brain insulin resistance and tauopathies [58], we analyzed the expression of total tau and its phosphorylated forms, along with the expression of CDK5 and catalytic subunits, p35 and p25, which are involved in the process of tau phosphorylation. This evidence concerns the gene CDK5 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
