INS and type 2 diabetes mellitus: On the other hand, the result of a study on the association between dietary salt and plasma glucose, insulin, and hemoglobin A1c levels among type II diabetes patients in eastern China, indicates that higher dietary salt (>8 g/day) increased Fasting Plasma Glucose (FPG) by 2.3 mmol/l (41.44 mg/dl) compared to lower dietary salt.
