Apoptotic induction as an anti-cancer mechanism of the action of ZEB and ITCs has been previously reported through a number of pleiotropic underlined mechanisms involved in various cancer models, like hepatoma [44], breast carcinoma [45], cholangiocarcinoma [42], glioblastoma [46,47], ovarian [48] and lung [49] carcinomas, as well as gastric adenocarcinoma [50].
